Serbian Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Minister Tomislav Momirovic expects initial construction work to begin in the third quarter of 2021. In a statement to Tanjug, Momirovic also commented that it was too early to set deadlines. According to estimates, the construction of the first metro line in the city - from Makisko Pole to Mirievo, will take three years, Momirovic adds.
According to Momirovic, PowerChina will take over the construction activities and Alstom will provide the "brain of the system". The Sebian finance minister points out that the French company is already working on the models and specifications related to the metro system, eKapija.com reports.
