A new production complex by the Chinese company Xingyu, worth 77 million euros, will create at least 100 new jobs in Niš, Serbia

Chinese automotive lighting systems manufacturer Xingyu is launching a new 77 million euro investment in Niš. The company will build a new production facility for automotive headlights and lighting, for which Serbia will provide 8.2 million euros in government subsidies. The agreement between the Ministry of Economy and the Chinese company has already been officially signed, BalkanEngineer.com learned from the Serbian business portal eKapija.

The project is expected to create at least 100 new permanent jobs by the end of 2030. This will bring the total number of the company’s employees in Niš to 342. Under the agreement, the investor is obligated to finance at least 25% of the project with its own funds, as well as to maintain the number of workers and assets at the same location for a period of at least five years after the project’s completion.

The state subsidy of 8.2 million euros will be paid out in five tranches between 2027 and 2031. Each payment will be contingent upon strict compliance with the commitments made regarding investment and employment. The Chinese manufacturer has been operating in Niš since 2019, and with its new plant, it is expanding its production capacity to supply leading global automotive manufacturers.
