The Serbian company Netivest and the Swiss enterprise S2P Electric have signed an agreement to jointly build a solar power plant with the Institute of Mining and Metallurgy in Bor, Serbia. The installation will have a capacity of 56 MW, BalkanEngineer.com learned from Ekapija.com.

This will be the first solar power plant with such capacity in Serbia. The installation is worth 40 million euro and will be built in accordance with the highest environmental standards, transforming a mining waste disposal area into an eco-park. The construction activities are expected to start in 2022. Experts from the country and abroad will work on the project.

The construction of the plant will not only provide the town of Bor and its area with an important source of clean electricity without carbon dioxide emissions, but will also utilize a landfill for hazardous waste, which would otherwise have no investment value.
