Leading retail operator Coop oversees a large industrial bakery in Switzerland and is among the key logistical centers in the country. The bakery in Schafisheim produces large quantities of different bread and other dough related products for shops across the country, working almost all day. "To ensure the daily distribution of hundreds of pallets of fresh and frozen products, the company uses automated marking and labeling systems from Bluhm Weber Group. The technologies work stably under high loads, low temperatures and block the production cycle, ensuring accuracy, consistency and safety of the process," SIS 45, an official distributor of Bluhm Weber Group, informed BalkanEngineer.com.

To ensure reliable labelling, Coop introduced several automated solutions by Bluhm Weber Group. Two Legi-Air 4050 P perform labelling on both sides for pallets in movement, completing around 20 pallets in the span of an hour, and at maximum production, can reach up to 240 completed pallets in an hour. The ERP system provides individual data to the printing modules, which apply the text with SSCC barcodes on the pallets without halting the conveyor line. "The system also features patented safety technology that automatically removes the applicator from the work area in the event of a power outage, preventing contact with the pallet and possible damage," SIS 45 explained.
In the frozen products zone, four Legi-Air 4050 E place QR codes onto the boxes through contactless labelling. A specialized sensor, installed in the applicator, determines the distance to the surface and stops movement several millimeters from it, which guarantees precision even under low temperatures. The large capacity of the label roll ensures continuous operation without interruption.
