Leading machine manufacturer RAIS has opened again the doors for future engineers at the Technical College – Kazanlak, a branch of the Technical University – Sofia. The visit was part of the company’s aim to support engineering education and to introduce young specialists with the actual production of modern high-performance CNC metal cutting machines.

Students specializing in the field of “Mechanical Engineering”, who are currently learning programming and working with numerically controlled machines, had the opportunity to experience a high-tech industrial environment and closely observe the practical application of the theoretical knowledge they have learned.
During his visit, engineer Artin Bazdigyan, RAIS application engineer, presented to the students and their teachers the company's production catalogue, which includes CNC milling and turning machines, three-axis and five-axis machining centers, horizontal machining centers, single-spindle and double-spindle lathes, etc.
"RAIS is an established manufacturer of CNC metal cutting machines not only on the Bulgarian market, but the international market as well. Initially, the company started its operations with the modernization of existing machines, and today, three decades later, we have our own modern high-tech production," emphasized Mister Bazdigyan.
The specialist from RAIS also enunciated the strategic partnerships of the company with leading producers in Taiwan and Japan. The company only imports machinery that, due to design or technological limitations, cannot be produced locally.
"Neither in Bulgaria nor in Turkey are tables over 2 m long cast. That is why we offer lathes with a length of 3 and 4 m from TAKISAWA - Taiwan, and multitasking machines are produced in TAKISAWA - Japan," he explained, adding that it is precisely such a high-performance machine with two spindles and two turret heads that the students will see in action.
Considerable interest was generated by the presentation featuring machines done by RAIS’s yearlong partner – Citizen, famous for its Swiss-type machines, also known in our country as slot machines. They are widely used in the precision machining of parts with diameters from Ø2 to Ø20 mm, as well as in extremely fine ranges from 0.9 to 4 mm, oriented towards the medical and military industries.
