For a long time, engineering has not been a territory determined by stereotypes, but a world where knowledge, diligence and the aim to improve one’s skills are the true ways to measure success. The women that prove their capabilities on a daily basis through their professionalism in this dynamic environment, are the inspiration of our new initiative “She’s an engineer.” With it, we showcase the stories of the ladies, who through their effort, bravery and expertise, have redefined the ideas behind the profession and have motivated the next generation of engineers.

Our guest today is Lyubina Ivanova, a process engineer at TESY and holder of a master’s degree in automation. With over ten years of professional experience, she believes that engineering is not merely a profession but a calling—one that requires analytical thinking, discipline, and a readiness to tackle challenging learning curves.

When did you determine that engineering is your profession?

At the very start of my professional path, I realized that engineering is not only a profession, but a calling. It combines logic, creativity and responsibility – three things that have always motivated me. With time I understood that the satisfaction that comes from creating, improving and having sustainable results, is what truly inspires me.

What is the boldest decision that you’ve taken in your profession?

One of the boldest decisions is taking the next step in my career and joining a new organization – TESY. While I have over 10 years of experience in the field of engineering, every new environment carries its own challenges – different organizational culture, processes and teams. At the moment, I am in a period of adapting and understanding, which I view as a valuable opportunity to learn and develop professionally.

What stereotype regarding women in engineering would you like to be rid?

The stereotype that engineering is a “male profession.” Skills, discipline, and the way of thinking don’t have a gender. Women in engineering are not only doing great, but also provide a different point of view, which makes teams stronger, more creative and sustainable.
