Production Engineer, New Products Industrialization (Maternity Cover)

Your job:

• Support the planning and implementation of concepts for the industrialization of new products under guidance of senior engineers.
• Participate in interdisciplinary project teams, assisting with process development, implementation of new production lines, technologies, and equipment, in line with design standards, quality, and cost targets.
• Assist in the specification, procurement, and commissioning of production and assembly equipment.
• Support the preparation and maintenance of technical requirements, functional specifications, and documentation for equipment and production concepts.
• Contribute to workstation planning and layout design using standard methods and tools (e.g. MTM, EAWS), with mentoring and training.
• Apply production-oriented product design guidelines and collaborate closely with R&D and project teams during product industrialization phases.
• Support equipment ramp-up activities and testing until stable production is achieved.
• Assist in the implementation of new technologies and production methods in line with the manufacturing roadmap.
• Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives and proactively develop technical and process-related knowledge.

Technical Competencies and Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Master’s degree or ongoing studies are considered an advantage).
• Good written and spoken English; basic knowledge of German is an advantage but not required.
• Basic familiarity with ERP systems (e.g. SAP) is an asset.
• Good command of MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

Professional Competencies and Requirements:

• Initial experience (internship, traineeship, or up to 2 years) in Production Engineering, Process Development, or Manufacturing Engineering.
• Exposure to a production or manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Interest in industrialization of electrical devices, electronics products, or automated production systems is an advantage.
• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, quality principles, and industrial standards.
• Fundamental knowledge of statistics, SPC concepts, or engineering experiments is an asset.
