ROLE OVERVIEW

Access Transport Network Engineer is responsible for planning and operations of Access Transport Network. His/Hers obligation is to design, operate and maintain the Access Transport Network infrastructure. This includes capacity planning, network topology design and applying configuration. The role involves troubleshooting issues and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to resolve incidents and minimize downtime. Strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach are essential for success in this role. Effective communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams are also key aspects, as the role requires coordination with other departments such as NOC, Field services and vendors.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Planning, configuration, troubleshooting and optimization of Access Transport Network
• Perform second level operations and maintenance of IP/MPLS, DWDM and MW equipment
• Execute daily technical activities within the team – Work Order issuing and execution, incident handling, customer complaint handling
• Keeping up-to-date documentation about Access Transport Network infrastructure
• Provide second level support to NOC for Access Transport Network activities and cooperate with suppliers in troubleshooting of major problems
• Perform software updates and upgrades on the Access Transport Network equipment with the aim of the minimum service downtime
• Ensure and coordinate actions with vendors and subcontractors concerning Access Transport Network equipment integration, testing and acceptance.

REQUIREMENTS:

• University degree in in the field of Telecommunications/IT or other Engineering domain;
• General knowledge of telecommunication and mobile technologies;
• IP/MPLS knowledge and experience;
• DWDM knowledge and experience;
• MW networks knowledge and experience;
• Courses and certifications in the area of Telecommunications is beneficial;
• Familiar with the following network technologies & protocols: TCP/IP, MPLS, DWDM, fiber-optic;
• Familiar with Linux environment and/or task automation will be a benefit;
• Flexible and loyal team-player;
• Work well under pressure with tight SLA frames in case of incident handling;
• Excellent English (both written and verbal).
